This Zello package is our basic solution and can be customized to meet each customer’s specific needs.

This package is an excellent starting point for implementing Radio over IP (RoIP). It utilizes employees’ personal or company-issued smartphones connected through either a cellular data connection or Wi-Fi to communicate with a centralized computer located at a site with reliable power and internet service. The system is paired with a radio that is selected to meet your organization’s operational requirements.

This solution helps improve communication coverage, easily expands communications by leveraging existing smartphones, reduces infrastructure costs, and provides a flexible gateway between radio and smartphone users.

This technology has already been successfully implemented by Calais Fire-EMS and Danforth Ambulance. Located in Washington County by RKC Communications. Both services have paired the system with Wi-Fi installed in their ambulances to maintain communications in areas with poor or no radio coverage, improving both operational effectiveness and responder safety.

Basic Zello Configuration Package

• Central Computer: We use high-quality Dell OptiPlex, Lenovo ThinkCentre, and Lenovo ThinkStation desktop computers to provide a reliable, cost-effective solution while keeping project costs budget-friendly. Systems may be new or refurbished depending on availability and customer preference. Customers may also supply their own compatible computer or request a brand-new system.
  
• 12-Volt Desktop Power Supply / Radio Enclosure: A 12-volt desktop power supply and radio enclosure are included. These components may be new or refurbished, depending on the radio model, availability, and customer preference.
  
• Land Mobile Radio (LMR): A VHF, UHF, 700/800 MHz, or 900 MHz mobile radio is required. The radio may be new or used, depending on the customer’s preference, system requirements, protocol compatibility, and the availability of used equipment. We can integrate with most LMR system types and protocols based on your specific application and operational requirements. Important: If the radio will be used on a P25 Phase I, P25 Phase II, or DMR Tier III system, the customer must provide a compatible radio that is programmed, and the designee MUST have and provide a copy of written authorization on the department’s official letterhead and must be signed by the highest-ranking official, to operate it in this configuration before moving forward. We are not able to program radios into these systems unless we have access to the system.
  
• Antenna System: A radio antenna for the specific band of radio you are using, NMO mount or magnetic-mount (mag-mount) antenna, and the required coaxial cable are included, depending on the installation requirements.
  
• Interface Cables: All necessary interface cables required to connect the radio, computer, and supporting hardware are included.
